Computer God...
CHARACTERS: Megamind, Kirk, Spock, Caprica, Isaac, & Tali, and whoever else might join them.
LOCATION: Engineering.
WARNINGS: Megamind talks too much.
SUMMARY: Megamind's promised a tour of engineering. What it's going to be is more like...a a confession.
NOTES: None specific; pose order as we go, let's not be too strict about it in a scene with this many people?
He waited for them outside the lift on one of the engineering levels, still twirling the screwdriver he'd found between his fingers. It was a brief moment for self-reflection, and Megamind didn't like that much. If this were home, Minion would give him a pep talk, suggest they kidnap Roxanne, and move on with their lives.
Minion wasn't here. Oh, Tony Stark got his Minion, but no, not Megamind. Secretly, he was a little bit glad. That meant Minion was safe at home; not crammed in some awkward human body that he'd never know how to use or steer, or worse, still a fish in his robot suit, and thus, even more vulnerable to anybody who wanted to take a few swings with a hammer at the glass.
So-- there was no one to give him a pep talk. Nobody to prepare him for the uncomfortable things that confession could lead to. He had to put on his big villain's pants (such as they were) and face the truth:
They were going to find out he was just as screwed as the rest of them, with as much to learn, and they were going to ridicule him, and refuse to let him help. That he wanted to help scared him enough-- but he was already imagining being very small, in the time out corner, always trying to help, always trying to impress and never, ever quite making the cut. Never good enough. Always bad. Heck, they coudln't even listen to him when he knows bad.
Still, he had to try. It might be a fight he couldn't win, but he still had to take a swing.

If he was honest, Kirk knew he hadn't spent nearly enough time in Engineering lately. It was like the longer he spent here, the more paperwork he felt he needed to do. Which was a pain, but he'd known it was coming when he'd become captain of the Enterprise.
Still, he never felt quite as useful (when he wasn't organizing world-saving events) as when he was elbow deep in something he could really get his hands on, and so if he was honest, he was pretty stoked for this little field trip. He arrives with Spock at his shoulder, and nods his chin at their tour guide.
"Hey, thanks again for doing this."

That Megamind himself will be elaborating upon the department is ample encouragement- if solely given his recent history. The Vulcan does not share his Captain's enthusiasm for the ship's core, but it is no less significant an experience. Engineering made up the entirety of the Tranquility's internal systems, meant their continued existence, and there could be no more unwise course of action than to ignore the department.
Academic understanding, what he had learned from Starfleet was one matter, however. A practical, somewhat less structured demonstration of it's particulars and variants would be- a unique challenge. He does not speak, but his stride remains even and self assured at his Captain's side. A nod turned in Megamind's direction in place of a greeting.

"Captain. Mr. Spock," he said, putting on his best confident grin, though it didn't quite reach his eyes. "Shall we see if the others turn up? I expect Isaac will, we've talked a bit about what I've found before; hopefully Tali and Caprica will come down as well."
He secretly hoped they didn't; Tali especially-- she'd been so maternal with him, disappointing her frightened him in a way he didn't expect and wasn't sure how to cope with. But for now, bravado saw him through.

"Your wish is granted, on at least one count." She rested a hand in the curve of her hip and glances between Spock and Kirk. "Are we waiting only on one more person?"

"Sorry about that, was doing a routine checkup of everything."

"You would think it would be easier to settle in to a place like this again once you knew what to expect," she shook her head, standing next to the other person with an envirosuit of sorts.
"Sorry. I'm here now. I could have caught up, you know."

Megamind turns his head as the others start to filter in, and his confidence begins to fracture. He nibbles his lower lip, a gesture Minion or Roxanne might find familiar-- something he does when he's stressed or worried. Well, then.
The bell was tolling, and it tolled for thee.
"Right. Well, the first place we should start is the level I had the lair in, and then move into the ducts from here, to where I made my control center," he replied. "So why don't we head there first. Hope you dont' mind climbing about and getting a bit dirty-- this is engineering."

Guy needed some encouragement, and Jim takes a step forward. Not stealing the attention (he knew how much Megamind enjoyed it), per se, but... trying to alleviate some of the pressure.
"I don't know about you guys but I'm pretty stoked," He says with a grin, and opens one arm to gesture Megamind to lead the way. "Shall we?"

Spock looks like he is standing at attention(because he is) and observing as much of the scenery as he is the individuals accompanying them(because he's doing that too) with a set jaw and impassive expression. Admittedly, there is very little he's seen of engineering as a whole. Even less so provided the attempted mutiny and after effects thereof.
He had not attended the raid to find the man, and in the chaos afterwards, had not ventured to the ship's bowels to explore the changes to the environment. Despite his image, his curiosity is insatiable.
Spock's hands settle behind his back, clasped at parade rest, but his gaze does not leave Megamind's face.
I'm so sorry, I went on vacation D:
A novel thing, working with all of these humans, and one odd, blue alien.
"By all means," she murmurs in agreement with Kirk, "lets."
