CHARACTERS: Peggy Carter and YOU
LOCATION: The Oxygen Garden
WARNINGS: None.
SUMMARY: Peggy is exploring the ship and comes across the oxygen garden.
NOTES: Basically an open post for new and old CR. Gimme it~
It wasn't her intention to go to the oxygen garden but somehow, Peggy had ended up in the area and she was fascinated by it. The room reminded her of botanical gardens she had been to when she was a young girl back home, except this was much more technologically advanced. She knew the function of the area by reading a guide but in a way, she still wanted to see it for herself. It made her think about the future; not that she would be around of course but even so. Is that what the people of the future would construct? Peggy could only speculate.
As she walked around the room, her thoughts drifted to Steve and how his arrival seemed to have change things for her. Peggy thought that he was dead and seeing him was such a shock, then a relief. Perhaps it was selfish of her to want to have him here, especially considering how dangerous the ship could be, but a part of her was glad because she got to see Steve again.
Anyone who comes across Peggy now will find her deep in thought.

"You're not wrong on that. People would go to the extremes to achieve a goal and not stop until they have achieved it. The war was still going on when I came here."

"I hope I'm not spoiling anything for you to say that it does end, eventually," he said, with a small smile.

Although, Peggy was told she could forget all about her experiences on board if she left here. She wasn't sure if that was true though.
"I'm lucky enough to have someone on board whom I'm close to from back home. I lost him there," Peggy added after a few moments, sounding a little saddened.

He edged towards the bench, nodding to silently ask if she'd care to join him for a chat for a little while.

Peggy smiled a little, her sadness forgotten. "Captain Steven Rogers." At his gesture, she moved to sit down on the bench, folding her hands in her lap. Then she continued.
"We worked together back home and he's one of the best men I know."

"And by 'lost him' do you mean...?" he asked, trailing off because he didn't want to touch on it too firmly if it was a sensitive topic for her. He knew all too well what it was like to believe that someone was dead only to have them show up here on the ship, after all.

"As you can imagine, I couldn't believe that he was on board the first time I saw him. I thought I was dreaming." Peggy fell silent after that, remembering how she felt when Steve appeared over the network.

"I've got someone on board that I lost back home," he said, which was a huge step for him to admit to, even if it didn't seem like it. "So I can kinda understand how you feel, yeah."

She gave Jack a smile. "I should introduce you to him at some point. I think you'd like him."

In retrospect, maybe he should have perhaps tested the waters before going all open sexuality on her. Then again, he'd always pushed the boundaries, regardless of what era he was in.

She had never met anyone who was so open and frank about things (well, except maybe Howard Stark). Simply because it wasn't really done in the time that she came from; or it was just kept better hidden.
