When you were young and your heart was an open book

CHARACTERS: Megamind, Roxanne, and a myriad of others -visitors, guards, medical personnel.
LOCATION: Medbay
WARNINGS: Possible discussion of gore and injury, death threats, who knows.
SUMMARY: Megamind's in the medbay. So are a lot of other people coming and going.
NOTES: Feel fee to use this as a gathering thread; your character may come for medical treatment- specify if you have an open thread, or if you want to see Megamind or other specific characters (arrange scenes with anyone other than Megamind and Roxanne with the players in question personally, please!)

He was a mess; the bullet missed Megamind's heart, but his body had never been made for the gravity in which it had been raised. His blood pressure elevated, he bled like crazy. After a couple of touch-and-go days, he seemed to even out, though he was low in blood and completely comatose. Without enough blood to run that big brain? Who could say if there'd be brain damage later. With no medical records to compare to, Megamind's condition would remain a question until he opened his eyes and spoke again.

But that doesn't mean he wasn't going to. He was just taking his good sweet time about getting there. Eventually, he would. Someday. Today, maybe. It might be a good day for that...

...here's hoping it was a good day for everybody else.

It's a strange juxtaposition for Kirk, having the training he did, and hearing how others wanted to go about things. The idea that they should have thrown it back in their 'captors' faces when they'd been offered jobs, when they'd been asked to help. He's not sure how he seems to be the only person who remembers the altercation clearly. That they had all volunteered to help, that neither of the remaining crew had the manpower to force them into anything.

They had an entire ship, and could do nothing but fly it. Though Jim had his suspicions about the actual thing itself. About what they could be hiding.

He lets Megamind talk himself into silence, and then unfolds his arms. "We do need to organize and act. I'd been trying to do just that before you decided to pull the rug out from under everyone. You say we can't trust what they tell us, we should figure it out ourselves- I don't see you with many more answers than the rest of us have, and you figured out how to pilot this baby from Engineering." Jim's hands find the foot of the bed and he leans forward against it. "Not everyone here wants to answer to someone else, but we need to work together." And that's how Jim can tell that this guy is used to working alone, having people at his beck and call, and not the democracy that Jim was raised with under the Federation.

Jim takes a breath. What was your plan, Jim Kirk?

If he's going to be obvious, eventually, it'll be mutiny. When he can get into the ship, and has the back up he needs. When he can figure out which direction to fly, how to jump to get them all back home. But at this rate, it'll be a long time coming, and he isn't about to let these thoughts- things he hasn't even told Spock- come to light in front of this guy.

"Right now? To see if what you've done is going to draw any attention," Which, Jim thought as he said it, was a pretty decent dodge of the question as much as it was the truth.

He watches Megamind, letting him draw his own conclusions. He found that, in the grand scheme of things, it was always easier- better- to have people think they knew what was going on with him. Then, when he finally moved, it was normally a surprise. A lot of people thought they knew what he was like, when they really didn't.

Gaila, after all, hadn't been the first to fall for his underhanded techniques.

"I don't like to rush," Jim says with a smile that could only be described as coy. He'd had to fail the Kobayashi Maru two times before figuring out how to beat it, after all. But this wasn't a test, this was real life, and though Jim's experience extended as far as Nero, he knew that one little mistake could cause catastrophic results.

Jim got that, he really did. Emotion could get the better of you, and if Jim was honest, only half of what he'd done during the Nero Crisis had been from pure logical fact. The rest, he'd been running on gut, on feeling, on the need to save people.

He arches an eyebrow. "Thanks," He answers dryly, before his gaze darts over his shoulder. Roxanne, returning, and the doctors fluttering about. "Maybe you should get some rest," He says, reaching out to pat at his covered leg. "Before you end up in a less comfortable bed."

Because in the end, he was still bound for the brig. Jim offers him a parting wink before he starts to move off.
