[ A pause. ]
I think a large portion of your lack of self-confidence comes with your cultural background. It seems to be that because your father was from a different tribe others treated you differently, and you feel like you don't deserve it when people treat you the same way they would treat others.

[He doesn't see that as a problem; he sees that as an established fact with a perfectly reasonable, acceptable explanation. If his father were from a different tribe--any other tribe--then things might not be so severe, but a Meigi, of all possible things...]
There's a lot of bad blood in the Meigi. It's not supposed to be with others, because--is it okay to tell you? I'm a little afraid to.

"I will respect the privacy of my patients, for their problems are not disclosed to me that the world may know" is one of them. Whatever you say never leaves this room, so don't be worried. I'm not allowed to judge.

When I was born, I was different from the others. [No elaboration.] I don't know why for sure, but it's probably because of my father. The Meigi worship demons, so there are a lot of things in their blood that shouldn't spread.

[ No.
Crane tilts his head to the side. Asato--Asato has become interesting. ]
Unless you are part demon?
[ And how delightful will that be when the time comes. ]

He bites his lower lip for a while before answering.]
It's the blood. That's where it's hiding.

Can you feel it? Does it course through your veins?
[ No, not very professional. But this has Crane excited. ]
no subject
[He puts a hand on his fore-arm, clasping hard, nails pressing against tan skin.]
I get upset, and angry. That's when it's the worst.
no subject
He wants nothing more than to see that demon, unleash it on the entire ship. ]
Scared?

[He's not sure why Crane is smiling like this, but he keeps up the cautious trust unless given a reason to stop believing he's trustworthy. It's not a huge secret, after all. His entire tribe knows about this; it's why they rallied to kill him so often when he was a child.]

[ Crane has gathered enough information. Especially with this individual. ]
Asato, if I may suggest frequent visits to me in the future? It's impossible to cover everything in one session but I'd like if you could do something for me--homework, of sorts.

[His nod is uncertain, but it's there.]
What should I do?

[Yeah, he can do that easily. In fact, the list is easy to predict: flowers, food, Konoe. Belly-rubs and ear-scratches. Simple little things.]
Then, I'll see you again in a week? I hope what I write is helpful.
