Jonathan Crane, correct?
[Still going to hang out there in the doorway for a moment.]
no subject
Correct.

Good.
Pretty sure I've been meaning to drop by for awhile.
[Rey doesn't move in just yet. Wouldn't want to be presumptuous that he's had time invested in her, now would we?]

[ He motions to the seat, his best smile on. Kind, calm. Even somewhat warm. ]

Only a few had made that list.
But this person he'd seen about the network, something that had made the man curious to see just how he would work. Psychiatrists and the like were pretty much unheard of in his world and someone claiming to work with the mind truly did intrigue him.
Thus he'd stopped short of the door, keeping his distance and putting on the happy mask of a slightly awkward and nerdy man. Typical fare.]
I can't say that I've spoken to you yet, but you seem to be offering an odd hospitality compared to the rest of the crew.

[ Crane hasn't seen him but that interests him all the more--the light smile, the awkward hunch. At first glance there's something dismissive about his stance.
Then again, Crane has spent years perfecting the exact same thing. Interesting doesn't begin to describe it. ]
How so?

Many aren't willing to share anything with others on this ship unless they were close in their worlds previously. Sort of a crowd mentality, the sheep that stay in their flock and rarely wander away from it.
Scared of the wolf that might be amongst them, the usual societal fears.
no subject
[ He's still smiling, if just lightly. ]
I haven't seen you aboard the ship yet. Like keeping to the shadows?

He's not sure why he needs it, but Chase had told him so, and Chase is pretty smart and has his best interest in mind, doesn't she? Maybe this man can help him with that.]
Hello?
[He just peeks in, ears pressed back flat. This guy looks like he knows what he's doing, at least.]
no subject
He's not expecting the cat ears. It's rather strange, but so is being on a ship. If anything, it's a chance to explore. A chance to see what goes on in a cat-man's mind. But for now, he slips on an easy smile, welcoming. Warm. ]
Hello. Don't be shy, have a seat. Or you could stand if it would make you feel more comfortable. [ He rises from his own chair, offering a hand. ]
no subject
[He gently swats at the offered hand. Handshakes are still something he needs to learn about, although he's already had several people offer their hands to him this way.
This man doesn't feel threatening to him at all. He'd made a good choice, the right choice. This guy is going to help him out and things will be better than they were before; he'll be a stronger, more confident Asato. Or at least he hopes he will be.]

Well, my name is Dr. Jonathan Crane. Dr. Crane will work, or just Crane if you want. What can I help you with, Mr....? [ he trails off, waiting for a name. ]

It's not without a little apprehension that he comes in, though.]
Hello. I'm Stats. I've come for a first session, if you would.
no subject
Hello--I didn't expect someone as tall as you. Have a seat.
no subject
Well, you know what I'm here for. [He grins sheepishly.]
no subject
I'm not sure if you're familiar with these things, but I need to tell you that this is a safe space--nothing you say here will leave the room. I'm here to make you comfortable.

but it's been such a long time since he's been around anyone. it's like the harmons moving into his house and bringing a flurry of interesting people with them. which was saying something. once upon a time, Tate wouldn't have given them the time of day.
still, he finds, he doesn't give much of a rat's ass about them.
as it stands, he notices that Crane has been getting more attention lately. he's offered his services as a psychiatrist, and the sheep that they are (gullible, weak) they flock to him. moths to flame. he sits in on some of them, invisible to the naked eye and lounging on the bed, his gaze moving between Crane and his patients.
eventually, though, the lulls come, and Tate reaches out with fingers like shadows.
today he wanders back from the lower passenger levels, he leans into the frame of Crane's door as he passes by. a curve of his spine, a snake with a cheerful smile.]
Knock knock.
OH MY GOD THIS POST I CAN'T I CAN'T THEY HAVEN'T EVEN TALKED YET SDGFHJK
He's right, of course. It's Tate and it's Tate with that smile, the one Crane is no fool about. Tate is such a beautiful creature, so ready and willing, so alike. So dangerously twisted and so fixated on the concept of tearing people apart and showing their insides, what they're really like.
Smelling their fear. ]
Mr. Langdon. I haven't seen you for a while. Take a seat.
fufufufu
[he drawls, and slides over the threshold with simple grace. not for the first time his gaze wanders the room, but it's more a show than anything. idly seeing if anything has changed (in the last three hours, it hasn't) as though he hasn't seen it for a while.
his hand dusts the back of the extra chair Crane has procured before he drops himself haphazardly into it.]

she doesn't have anything concrete. just inklings. feelings. curiosities that keep her attention on the communicator and her nights given over to walking around the ship.

However, there is a door open in the middle of the hallway and his natural curiosity of things makes him peer inside, eyebrow raised. He raises an eyebrow upon seeing ht man inside. He's seen him before, over the communication device. He doesn't know this mans name or anything, but he can't help but make a comment.]
Oi, mate. You're door's open.
[Y'know. Just in case you didn't know.]

[ Nonetheless, Crane takes one look at the other and his lips immediately twitch in to a smile. He's seen him around the communicators--rough way of talking, ending everything with odd--aah, yes. Pirate. ]
