twenty-sixth jump;
CHARACTERS: Any and all.
LOCATION: Gravity Couches and beyond.
WARNINGS: Maybe some swearing, or even some violence, and more than likely some implied (and possibly explicit) nakedness.
SUMMARY: Another month, another jump, another round of new faces.
NOTES: Your average, run-of-the-mill jump—except some characters don't seem to be waking up from stasis like they should.
Don't worry.

THEY NEEDED THE REST.
You wake up in darkness.
There's a breathing tube jammed down your trachea, and you're suspended in a tube of clear blue fluid. Upon registering your level of consciousness, the gravity couch drains the fluid surrounding you and retracts the breathing apparatus; the doors in front of you open, and you're deposited on the floor of a stark, sterile medical bay.
You are not alone.
There are others who have come before you, others who are awakening beside you. Some may be familiar to you, perhaps even friends. Others have much less amiable plans. Some are merely alien and inexplicable, but there are always those who might mean you harm.
After you catch your breath and your vision returns, you notice a number on the inside of your forearm. Maybe it's a familiar number. Maybe it means something. Maybe it's just a number. But the number—completely unique to you—is a tattoo, and it does not come off.
If you enter the room adjacent to the medbay, you will find a small locker with your number on it, surrounded by rows upon rows of identical lockers. Inside, you will find a few of your personal items, a communications device, and a ship's uniform in your exact size. The comms device is fully powered and connects directly to the ship's network; it's your only means of communication beyond physical conversation. Upon turning the device on, a neutral, automated voice will say, "Please take the blue lift to the passenger quarters." Any other attempts at communicating with the rest of the network are met only with static.
This is your welcome party.

never apologize!!
Most people here are resilient.
[ and good at killing things, but he doesn't think he should lead with that information. she's probably freaked out enough as it is. ]
You're safe enough.
/apologizes forever also oh my god so many typos /AGGRESSIVELY APOLOGIZES
[ said plainly, factually, with no apparent interest in shock value or worry over being believed. the stranger can believe what he wants about what she's said, it doesn't matter to dana one way or the other. all she wants is for him to leave her alone. ]
I'm in an unknown location surrounded by people I don't know, naked and exhausted. Doesn't sound very safe.
SHOVES AWAY APOLOGIES, EATS TYPOS FOR BREAKFAST
A werewolf.
[ his eyes linger for a moment, assessing, and when he speaks again his tone is very, very carefully even. ]
We should talk somewhere else.
MMMMM TYPOS
I really haven't had the best day, so forgive me if I'm not really interested in going anywhere alone with a stranger. Nice try, though.
no subject
I'm not talking about werewolves where anyone can overhear.
[ though what he means specifically is chris argent. ]
no subject
If you want to talk about werewolves, you are going to do it right here. I'm not going anywhere with you.
[ chris argent can suck dana's balls, she's not afraid of a puny human after dealing with the buckners. ]
no subject
[ immediate, kneejerk. not that saying that was going to win him any points, but derek does what he can. ]
Was that what made those marks?
no subject
Why do you want me to be quiet? Who cares if we're talking about werewolves?
[ dana polk: most agreeable
humanwerewolf. ]What's it to you?
no subject
[ snapped back. derek doesn't touch her, but the impulse is there, to grab her and shake her, because how doesn't she understand that this is dangerous? ( maybe it isn't, not here, but derek's never learned to shake that particular fear ) he keeps his hands at his sides, but barely, jaw tight. ]
It doesn't matter what it is to me.
[ yeah okay derek. ]
