Camping may not be an expected activity on a spaceship, but the gardens are large and have clear, grassy areas for people to gather together. You can help set up tents, inventory supplies or guard the perimeter — just keep an eye out for any strange faces trying to sneak in... |
Primrose Everdeen / ota
Every so often she gets up and wanders around the crowds gathered at the makeshift tents, hoping to see someone she knows and can verify that the people closest to her are all right. She carries a makeshift medical kit on her, one almost similar to her nurse's bag from District 13. She hopes she won't need to use the contents, but figures it's better to be prepared. Just in case.]

[You can see her looking over curiously at it.]

Prim just laughs at him and shakes her head.]
He doesn't like being here very much. Sorry for his bad manners.
no subject
He's yours?
no subject
His name is Buttercup. You can pet him if you like. He won't hurt you, I promise.
no subject
[Instead she shakes her head.]

He stepped near her, folding his arms over his chest and leaning against a tree. He doesn't need to read minds to know that discussing what's going on out there wouldn't be the best choice. Instead, his eyes focus on the mangy cat. Something about it was so familiar... He would figure it out. ]
What's your cat's name?
no subject
Buttercup.
[She pauses, placing a hand over her chest.]
And I'm Primrose. [Her lips move together as if she's about to laugh, but instead her smile just grows and she holds out her hand.]
Buttercup and I are glad to meet you, Mister...?
no subject
[ Ah-hah. That's why he recognizes your cat. He considers the names for a moment, before deciding to answer with his own. ]
Charles.
[ He's quiet. Perhaps he should be bothered by Buttercup's behavior, or ask about it, but he doesn't. He's seen that cat with Katniss, he recalls. Only briefly, of course. But the way he was with her was considerably worse than with Primrose. ]
It's nice to meet you. I think I've seen your cat before. A girl who was here before had him. Katniss.
[ He knows it is a bit stretching it to call Katniss his friend, but...he did like her company, for all of the rough edges she had. She was rather like other friends of his, after all. ]
He seems to like you more.
no subject
He and Katniss don't get along very well, but I think he loves her. Deep, deep down.
[That smile of hers is back, and she motions for Charles to come and sit with them.]
Were you friends with my sister?
no subject
I don't know if she much liked me. I helped her once and talked to her a few times before she was gone.
[ Charles takes a seat next to Primrose and watches Buttercup for a moment before looking back at her. ]
I would have liked to have been friends with her, though.

And while Summer seems to be alone, Bran of course won't be too far behind. Summer is just a little quicker, and a little more eager to greet Prim--or to stare at her cat. He isn't mischievous, but he is interested in Buttercup. He sniffs in the cat's direction, his ears pricked and his tail curled high, ready to give chase if need be.]
no subject
Buttercup, that's not nice! You shouldn't do that, not to our friends.
[She glances down at Summer, and then looks back up in time to see Bran approaching. Shaking her head, she runs over to close the distance between them. She keeps a watchful eye on Buttercup, to make sure that he doesn't do anything terrible.]
I was hoping to see you and Summer here. Buttercup is excited too, he just isn't very good at showing it, that's all.
no subject
Bran, meanwhile, smiles as Primrose approaches him. What little sulkiness he felt at being left behind--again--nearly melts away when he sees her. She is a good friend, and she will be good company if he must wait in the Gardens--and it is good, too, that she has seen no threat or injury from the pirates.]
Cats are strange in how they show excitement, everyone knows that. It is more obvious in dogs, and in wolves. [He smiles over at Summer, too, still sniffing at the air.] I am glad to see you too, Primrose, and glad the pirates haven't troubled you. [A little darker, he adds:] I only hope that they leave soon from our ship.
no subject
Robb will make sure that they leave. [And so Bran does not feel useless in being here, she smiles up at him and adds on] And you will make sure that we stay safe here, you and Summer.
[Buttercup has sulked his way back up against the tree, not liking being sniffed at by something quite so large. He flops over with a disdainful meow, as if he's giving up on life entirely.]
Do you think they'll be able to get in here and harm anyone?
no subject
You're right. I will remember that. I think we will be safe--but I don't think they will come this far. I spoke to one of them-- [A girl, a stupid girl who didn't know anything about Arya or anything; Bran frowns a little, and knits his fingers in Summer's fur.] --and she talked only of food. I think they want what we have in our stores, not us.
But they can't have all of it, or we will starve too.

-- Miss Prim! [ he can't help sounding a little surprised as he calls out. nearly trips over his own feet as he wriggles away from the rest of the crowd, quickly capping his water bottle and trotting over to prim with a wide grin. ] I wasn't aware you'd ended up back here! Have you been safe?
no subject
Soysauce! Hello again. [A bit awkwardly, but without any hesitation, she moves forward to give him a light hug. He was so nice to her when she was here before, and she's glad to see him again.]
I woke up here again this month. And yes, I'm staying safe. There's people watching out for me, so don't worry.
[And she's found that she's surprisingly good at taking care of herself, much to her own surprise.]
Have you been okay?
no subject
Been doing alright, I suppose.
[ a sheepish little laugh before he looks at the rest of the crowd around the gardens. ]
I'm sorry you had to return at such a strange time, though. The ship's certainly seen better days, hasn't it? One would think a pirate invasion would entail more whimsy, more fancy swashbuckling, yes?
[ he's going to accompany those last few words with a smarmy wink, yeah. ]
no subject
Do you think they'll end up taking a lot of things? [She doesn't have a lot here, but she definitely doesn't want everyone's supplies and food to end up gone. The thought of slowly starving on a spaceship isn't all that appealing to her.]
no subject
[ he answers without thinking at first, before realizing how bleak that must sound. and soysauce quickly backpedals, giving an awkward laugh as he rummages through his pocket. ] Ah! It's nothing too bad so far, though. There are plenty of strong, cunning people here -- we won't let those pirates do too much damage on us. We're too hardy for that!
[ soysauce finally manages to fish a little packages out of his pocket. two cookies wrapped up in a napkin. they're a little crumbly, but still nice enough, and soysauce offers one to prim with a little smile. ] I managed to salvage these while running by a kitchen. Just a little something to help keep spirits up until this all dies down, yes?

Being the in the gardens seemed like the best thing for her to do for now even if she wasn't planning on staying long. She is wandering around a bit to try to get some idea if anyone she knows is down in the gardens too and at some point she stops for a moment not too far from where Prim is, but Sarah is a bit too caught up in her thoughts to take notice just yet]

Within a few minutes she's made her round, and once again spots the blonde woman. She seems a little preoccupied, but quite a few people here do. She figures it's better to be safe than sorry though, and approaches.]
I don't mean to be a bother, but is everything okay?
[A pause, and her face turns bright red at that childish question.]
Something is wrong on the ship, obviously, but -
I just meant, is there anything I can do to help?

Don't worry too much. People promised me nothing bad would happen if we stayed here. That, and they're going to chase away anyone that might hurt us.
[She knows Robb is out there, and she trusts him to save the day, so she's forcing herself not to worry about it.]
Did they take anything from you? [She pauses, and realizes she needs to add on a little something so her question makes more sense.]
The pirates. Someone told me that they took something right out of their hands. But...I'm not sure how much of a truth that is.
