You wake up in darkness.

There's a breathing tube jammed down your trachea, and you're suspended in a tube of clear blue fluid. Upon registering your level of consciousness, the gravity couch drains the fluid surrounding you and retracts the breathing apparatus; the doors in front of you open, and you're deposited on the floor of a stark, sterile medical bay.

You are not alone.

There are others who have come before you, others who are awakening beside you. Some may be familiar to you, perhaps even friends. Others have much less amiable plans. Some are merely alien and inexplicable, but there are always those who might mean you harm.

After you catch your breath and your vision returns, you notice a number on the inside of your forearm. Maybe it's a familiar number. Maybe it means something. Maybe it's just a number. But the number—completely unique to you—is a tattoo, and it does not come off.

If you enter the room adjacent to the medbay, you will find a small locker with your number on it, surrounded by rows upon rows of identical lockers. Inside, you will find a few of your personal items, a communications device, and a ship's uniform in your exact size. The comms device is fully powered and connects directly to the ship's network; it's your only means of communication beyond physical conversation. Upon turning the device on, a neutral, automated voice will say, "Please take the blue lift to the passenger quarters." Any other attempts at communicating with the rest of the network are met only with static.

This is your welcome party.

[She's not alone in the lockers it seems and well, Bela shouldn't be surprised by now. It was just not a good jump for her this time around and she wanted to get back to her room as soon as possible.]

You were on Strela, right?

[Bela asks of Frodo, trying to make conversation after she had retrieved her belongings.]

[ frodo still can't hold back the jumping sensation of thinking someone is near. when he turns it's with a faint smile, eyes shadowed and looking fairly tired. yet it's his smile, that shows he'll be fine at least. ]

Yes, while we were looking for supplies, I believe. I don't think I ever got your name.

I didn't get your name either, I think. [She grants him a smile, leaning against the lockers.]

My name is Bela Talbot. What is yours?

Frodo Baggins. It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Bela.
[ he moves to attach sting to his side, pausing. ]

I hope the past week has been..pleasant for you. I do not think many of us could agree on such a thing.

It's a pleasure to meet you too, Mr Baggins.

[she notices the sword and it's interesting looking to her.]

Sadly not. I didn't manage to evade what happened during that week. Like a lot of people, I was caught up in the middle of it.

That's unfortunate. Yet I'm glad you managed.
[ for the most part the whole thing still wears on him, and the message he gained from his world still rings loud and clear. if he fails, that's surely what's to happen. ]

I don't understand why the ship would allow this.

Neither do I. But bad things have happened before and they'll probably happen again.

[Such positivity, Bela.]

We just have to be prepared.

[ frodo knows, still, to hear it blatantly stated instead of ignored is a first. he can't help but lower his eyes. ]

Sometimes there is no true way of preparing.

[she watches him for a few moments, noticing the way he looked away.]

Seems to me that you have some experience with that.

[ frodo pauses, looks at her and there isn't any sign of him denying her words. ]

In not preparing? Yes..yes I do.
[ he's blank, forcing a smile. ]
As I imagine many do.

You'd be right about that.

[Even when she did plan, it didn't always mean she was fully prepared.]

Is your friend still here? The one you mentioned at Strela.

[ frodo blinks, before he relaxes a bit ]
Legolas? Yes, he's alright. Still with me, something I'm selfishly grateful for.

That's good. You're lucky to have him. [she didn't have anyone from home..well, not anyone who was a friend.]

I still haven't had the opportunity to meet him yet.

I am indeed.
[ he did not expect he'd ever see anyone from the fellowship again ]

We often stay together, but I believe you'd have your best luck at finding him in the Gardens.

Oxygen Gardens, right. He must be a fan of nature and the outdoors then.

[bela was just reluctant to run into the huge dinosaur there.]
