ELEVENTH WAVE
CHARACTERS: any and all
LOCATION: Gravity Couches and beyond
WARNINGS: maybe some swearing, or even some violence, and more than likely some implied (and possibly explicit) nakedness.
SUMMARY: Another month, another jump, another round of new faces.
NOTES: Keeping up with the tradition and copy pasted like always from the last one
You wake up in darkness.
There's a breathing tube jammed down your trachea, and you're suspended in a tube of clear blue fluid. Upon registering your level of consciousness, the gravity couch drains the fluid surrounding you and retracts the breathing apparatus; the doors in front of you open, and you're deposited on the floor of a stark, sterile medical bay.
You are not alone.
There are others who have come before you, others who are awakening beside you. Some may be familiar to you, perhaps even friends. Others have much less amiable plans. Some are merely alien and inexplicable, but there are always those who might mean you harm.
After you catch your breath and your vision returns, you notice a number on the inside of your forearm. Maybe it's a familiar number. Maybe it means something. Maybe it's just a number. But the number—completely unique to you—is a tattoo, and it does not come off.
If you enter the room adjacent to the medbay, you will find a small locker with your number on it, surrounded by rows upon rows of identical lockers. Inside, you will find a few of your personal items, a communications device, and a ship's uniform in your exact size. The comms device is fully powered and connects directly to the ship's network; it's your only means of communication beyond physical conversation. Upon turning the device on, a neutral, automated voice will say, "Please take the blue lift to the passenger quarters." Any other attempts at communicating with the rest of the network are met only with static.
This is your welcome party.

but the moment she spotted chase, she stopped, furrowing her brow slightly as she took in the sight of the girl. it's a curious thing watching her. she knows chase is special (how much, that is still up for debate) and watching her behave how a child does at times...well; it always seems to be interesting, as she simply just never knows what to make of it. (she is clearly more advanced than her age, right?) and she cant help but find that she cares for her in some way she just doesn’t understand.
So yeah… she just shrugs, moving over towards the row of lockers chase was situated at. ]
Hey... [ she finally says, her hands sliding back into her jean pockets as she looked the girl over in a curious concern. ] how you doing?
[ it's a random question (one that does have a hint of concern for the girl slipping out of it) but one she hasn't honestly asked of her in person in a long time. ]

So when she actually looks, she smiles. ]
Hello, Ariadne! I thought you weren't going to talk to me.

How are things?

It's gotten better.

[ because really, she might as well find a way to subtly check on her here. ]

Sometimes, we drink tea and play 3-D chess.

[ a beat, her weight shifting from one leg to the other, as her hand rubbed at the back of her neck, attempting to work out her next few words. ]
I haven't seen you around much [ well creeping people out on the network she means. ] What've have you been up to?

Reaffirming your faith - how so?
[ because sure, she gets that chase is something not exactly understandable, but she can't help but be curious as to how it works with her. ]

The ultimate riddle – what's that?

Maybe one day we can sit and you can tell me all about this Prise?
no subject
Really?
no subject
Yeah, of course - It’s what people do when they want to learn about others, right?

Sometimes people forget others are allowed opinions and only see what they want. If I want to understand you and where you come from, I should at least learn all I can, right?

I'd like that, Chase - thank you.
