ELEVENTH WAVE
CHARACTERS: any and all
LOCATION: Gravity Couches and beyond
WARNINGS: maybe some swearing, or even some violence, and more than likely some implied (and possibly explicit) nakedness.
SUMMARY: Another month, another jump, another round of new faces.
NOTES: Keeping up with the tradition and copy pasted like always from the last one
You wake up in darkness.
There's a breathing tube jammed down your trachea, and you're suspended in a tube of clear blue fluid. Upon registering your level of consciousness, the gravity couch drains the fluid surrounding you and retracts the breathing apparatus; the doors in front of you open, and you're deposited on the floor of a stark, sterile medical bay.
You are not alone.
There are others who have come before you, others who are awakening beside you. Some may be familiar to you, perhaps even friends. Others have much less amiable plans. Some are merely alien and inexplicable, but there are always those who might mean you harm.
After you catch your breath and your vision returns, you notice a number on the inside of your forearm. Maybe it's a familiar number. Maybe it means something. Maybe it's just a number. But the number—completely unique to you—is a tattoo, and it does not come off.
If you enter the room adjacent to the medbay, you will find a small locker with your number on it, surrounded by rows upon rows of identical lockers. Inside, you will find a few of your personal items, a communications device, and a ship's uniform in your exact size. The comms device is fully powered and connects directly to the ship's network; it's your only means of communication beyond physical conversation. Upon turning the device on, a neutral, automated voice will say, "Please take the blue lift to the passenger quarters." Any other attempts at communicating with the rest of the network are met only with static.
This is your welcome party.

its okay, we can roll with it uwu
Asato hadn't remembered him, so hearing his name come from Konoe's mouth is enough of a relief to drag a little chuffing purr out of him, ears pricking up, eyes bright.]
I was hoping it was you, Konoe. [HE WASNT SURE OKOK, BUT A FELLOW CAT WAS A WELCOME CAT REGARDLESS.]
no subject
When did you get here?
[Just a second after asking Konoe ducks his head, squeezing his eyes shut over asking something so obvious. Or is it? Could he have forgotten how long it's been? He just can't make heads or tails of things this time. But he gives it another try and lifts his eyes back up.]
Are you alright?
[That one's more relevant, surely. No matter if it's the first time, the third, the eleventh - a jump is never simple to wake from. But he's able to ease some of the worry in his expression, noticing the older cat's cheer.]
no subject
[He scratches at his chin, looks thoughtful. He's not necessarily sure that count is right, time here doesn't seem so easy to pin down and the surroundings and haze of jump have left him a bit unsure. Either way his tail gives a friendly shake and he nods.]
Alright as I can be in this sort of thing I think!
[Which is to mean he's sore and his arm and head hurt and he's so so so confused....but it's manageable. Especially if his perceived cheer can lighten the worry in Konoe's eyes.]
no subject
I'm still... sort of not. [Really, listen to him. Words? What - ] But it is good to see you made it safely. [Emphasis on safe
he's seen some shit] Asato and I... the only cats. For a long time.[A long time is right. Without a haircut in months, his having quite a few inches more hair than before out to be a clue to that. He lifts his head a bit more, going on - ]
Are you headed to your room?
[He'd just enjoy gathering his things and getting away from the weird sounds in here....]
no subject
I was going to, but I was trying to find my locker first.
[His ears keep twitching, unused to the sounds and people and he certainly wouldn't object to getting out of here. He can question more, too, when they're out of earshot of so many people.]
no subject
Wha - ! [He goes from blushing not a little to being just a bit huffy.] Hey....
[But... it's not a bad feeling to share, and while sudden for his liking, it still reinforces their common ground. Or something, yes. He can allow it for now.]
You haven't been to it yet?
no subject
I went, once. But I didn't want to take everything out at once when I went to the showers.
[Which explains how he's in his usual garb and cleaned of all that space goo.]
I think I walked past it coming back though.
no subject
Bardo, he's the last cat - the last - think of your choices....]
You've got to pay attention!
no subject
I saw a tail and wanted to check it out!
[He's pouting. Look what you've done, Konoe. A grown cat and he's sitting here with his tail between his legs like a scolded child.]
no subject
It's bad to get lost here!
[He's not done scolding because it's serious! But he's going to breathe for a second.
Okay.]
But I suppose... since my locker is here, this is where the 003's are. But your number is... um....
[Watch out, Bardo - he's trying to figure out which direction that would be, look what you did.]
no subject
and then offer up his arm so Konoe can see his number, that's how things work here, right?]
That way I think?
[Looking around, looking around, and oh that way looks familiar. So he gestures to the left and looks thoughtful.]
no subject
Yes! [Though his hesitance drifting in that direction speaks more truth.] Do you want to go back yourself...?
[Whether or not a grown cat like him needs company down a hallway is his guess, too.]
no subject
That's okay, I'll get it. [He glances over, curious.] Unless you wanted to come with me?
1/2 it's okay Bardo ilu
no subject
You can go ahead...!
wow cutest bab
Alright, I'll see you later then?
