You're not feeling too well. The last couple of days have been - rough. The medbay seems to be a bit more full than usual, but you're sure it's nothing to be worried about; whatever the illness is, it'll go away once you've rested and gotten a check-up. Right?

Consciousness comes in starts and stops. There's things like the scrape of cloth, or maybe the flash of someone's sleeve as they pass by. The realization that he's rolling himself over in his sleep. Someone is speaking in Dari and he feels like the sun is on his face. A violin whines. A dog barks. White. He's aware of his tongue and his breathing.

But then, there's more lucidity. He comes to with his face pressed into a pillow, not knowing where the hell he is several times before he finally stops thinking (and drifting off) and tilts his head up instead. It smells like sickness and antiseptic. Hospital. No, medbay. His joints ache when he moves his arms, stupidly pawing at the sheets a moment before he finally works them down. He's too hot (been to the desert) and his pillow feels wet. He thinks he might need to throw up.
