CHARACTERS: EVERYONE
LOCATION: MED BAY
WARNINGS: ... Partial nudity? It should be pretty tame, but let me know if I need to add anything.
SUMMARY: Side-effects of a jump may include disorientation and temporary memory loss. Fortunately, there are a handful of others who have been through this before.
NOTES: Yes, it's a rehashing of the game premise. Don't worry, you can personalize your own (re-)introduction!

You wake up, alone in the dark.

There's a breathing tube jammed down your trachea, and you're suspended in a tube of clear blue fluid. Upon registering your level of consciousness, the gravity couch drains the fluid surrounding you and retracts the breathing apparatus; the doors in front of you open, and you're deposited on the floor of a stark, sterile medical bay.

Don't worry, you are not alone. There are others who have come before you, others who are awakening beside you. Some may be familiar to you, perhaps even friends. They will help you through your disorientation, even though they might suffer from it too.

After you catch your breath and your vision returns, you notice a number on the inside of your forearm. Maybe it's a familiar number. Maybe it means something. Maybe it's just a number. But the number—completely unique to you—is a tattoo, and it does not come off.

If you enter the room adjacent to the medbay, you will find a small locker with your number on it, surrounded by rows upon rows of identical lockers. Inside, you will find a few of your personal items, a communications device, and a ship's uniform in your exact size. The comms device is fully powered and connects directly to the ship's network; it's your only means of communication beyond physical conversation. Upon turning the device on, a neutral, automated voice will say, "Please take the blue lift to the passenger quarters." Any other attempts at communicating with the rest of the network are met only with static.

This is your welcome party.

So he thinks so too, huh someone else might have considered the thought stupid or crazy or 'Dave what the hell are you rambling about now.' Wings flex a little, one hand raising to the one which was once injured. "Better tune me out since it's all gonna sound bullshit." Mostly his memories are a bit clouded and its slowly coming back, thinking out loud is helping him remember.

"Time expert, once upon a moment was the Knight of Time. Role and all brandished in letters and placed on stone. Not really but it was a big deal. But had to fix something, doomed timeline and all and so had to kick back and travel back. It's why I look like some bird man. Can't complain though, new Alpha me might be here chilling too so if you see the guy give him a 'sup.'"

The Doctor frowns. "Why would you assume he is? Okay, pulling people from all different points in time, yes, but I wouldn't want to assume there's actually two of you hanging about. That sort of thing tends to lead to explosions and badness." He's said all this as though it must be obvious. This guy has to know about paradoxes, right?

Davesprite catches on easily, "Paradox is what I think you're getting at, after all how can two of the same person be in the same place? Shit is fucking impossible it's not a thing that can happen. But it worked back in the game, and with the prototyping can't say I'm exactly the same guy. Plus the four months. Maybe. Probably." A pause, shifting weight on his feet. "Well if he's here I'll give him a fistbunp while explosions happen in the background of badassry." He's kidding, sorta no not really. He's just confident it'll be okay.

The Doctor gives a shrug like he's working a crick out of his neck, more out of nerves than the fact that there's an actual crick. "Well, perhaps for the sake of caution, don't go doing any -- fistbumping unless the explosions have already started. Because I've changed, too, more than a couple of times, and meeting my past selves... well, it's never not been exciting, but there's always a danger of --" He makes a soft explosion noise, along with an accompanying gesture.

"What's this 'prototyping,' anyhow?" He glances up at the wings.

"You have? Well you did say you were a guy of time too, what's that mean exactly anyhow. It'd be stupid to say oh you must have been like me then but that's only game related so fucking impossible." A slight shrug, bu the general curiosity is still there. He wants to know exactly what he means but not trying to look or sound so into it.. not so much at least.

A pause at first, not that he's hesitate to say. It's not all too important for others to know and what are the chances of going back ever? It's not top secret anyways and maybe it'll help to test the limit of his memory. "A shame all knowledge brought with prototyping seems gone for now, but I can tell you the basics. Game construct provided in the game just come as a glowy ball like some god damn fairy, by 'prototyping' an object it takes form of it and becomes like some guide to help you along. Shenanigans went and mine got stuck with a crow with a sword through it, that's prototype one and then I prototyped myself with it and became some feathery ass genie. Which I'd be but looks like someone gave me legs so." Another shrug, wings ruffling a little up.
